On 3 December 2025, the SIESsail project organised an online workshop on designing inclusive educational programmes in sport, bringing together 51 instructors, coaches and members of partner organisations. The workshop focused on practical ways to create more inclusive and accessible training environments and to adapt educational content to the needs of diverse groups, including people with disabilities, beginners and participants with different levels of experience.

Participants were introduced to key principles of inclusion in sport, methods for adapting teaching techniques, and strategies for identifying and reducing barriers to participation. Particular attention was given to the role of instructors and coaches in creating learning environments in which every participant feels welcomed, supported and able to take part meaningfully.
The session also encouraged active discussion and the exchange of experiences. Participants reflected on their own practices, shared examples from their organisations and considered how existing training approaches could be improved to better respond to different needs.
As part of the workshop, the coordinator of the project also presented objectives of the project, activities and commitment to promoting more inclusive approaches within sailing and sport education. The workshop contributed to strengthening the knowledge and capacity of sailing instructors, coaches and partner organisations to develop and implement inclusive, accessible and participant-centred educational programmes in their local contexts.
With 51 participants attending the online session, the workshop demonstrated strong interest in inclusive sport education and provided an important foundation for further SIESsail activities focused on accessibility, participation and inclusion.
