PRESS RELEASE – SIESsail Launches Multilingual Online Educational Toolkit for Sailing

The SIESsail project – Slovenia, Italy, Estonia, Serbia Sailing Project has launched a new Interactive Online Toolkit at siessail.eu, creating an open-access digital learning hub designed to support sailing education and ensure long-term access to the knowledge, resources and results developed through the project. The platform has been created for a broad audience, ranging from complete beginners and recreational sailors to sailing instructors, coaches and organisations. It brings together practical and educational content covering the basics of sailing, sailing manoeuvres, knots, safety at sea, environmental protection and inclusion in sport

By combining these topics in one accessible online environment, the toolkit reflects the SIESsail project’s wider commitment to making sailing education more inclusive, sustainable and available to different groups of learners. The educational materials are structured into user-friendly modules combining short explanations, images, videos and interactive elements, allowing users to explore topics at their own pace and supporting different learning styles.

In addition to the educational toolkit, the SIESsail website serves as a central information point for the project. It includes information about SIESsail and its partners, the SIESsail Academy, project activities, news and a project timeline, providing visitors with a broader overview of the project’s development and results. The platform also plays an important role in sharing project outcomes. News stories, activity recordings, press releases and other project materials are brought together in one place, helping partners, sailing organisations and the wider public stay informed and make use of the resources produced through SIESsail.

Importantly, the toolkit has been designed with long-term use in mind. It will remain available beyond the formal project period, allowing sailing organisations, instructors and learners to continue accessing, using and sharing the knowledge developed through the project. The launch of the platform represents an important milestone for SIESsail, transforming project knowledge into a practical resource that can continue supporting accessible, inclusive and environmentally responsible sailing education in the years ahead.

SIESsail project connects five partners from four countries – Slovenia, Italy, Estonia and Serbia – with the aim of making sailing more accessible, inclusive and sustainable. Through education, cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and good practices, the project promotes healthy lifestyles, social inclusion and respect for the marine environment.
